The Medical Royal Colleges Association (MRCA-CY) is a non-profit organisation of doctors which was initially founded in December 1985 in Cyprus. Its members are doctors actively practising in Cyprus, who hold a postgraduate diploma from one of the Royal Colleges of the UK (MRCP, FRCS, MRCOG, etc) and the aim of the association is to promote and encourage ongoing medical education for doctors in Cyprus and the region of the Eastern Mediterranean.
The Eastern Mediterranean Seminar on General Medicine for Physicians is now the 8th seminar organized by this association, and the previous one in 2008 was a huge success with very high attendance from Cypriot doctors as well as a large number of overseas doctors attending from across the Middle East and Europe.
The Seminar takes place this weekend 26-27 November 2011 at the Amathus Beach Hotel in Limassol, Cyprus and promises 2 days of excellent sessions. Held under the auspices of the Cyprus Ministry of Health, the Pancyprian Medical Association and the Limassol Medical Association, the Seminar is made possible with the support of various local pharmaceutical companies and the impressive list of speakers is drawing an even larger number of doctors this year.
The Seminar Organiser and President of MRCA-CY, Dr Andreas C Stylianides says they have taken special care to ensure the programme is of interest to doctors from a variety of specialties. “The challenge of organising a seminar at this level is of course to ensure the programme is interesting as well as useful to many specialties. This year, we have been very successful in securing internationally recognized lecturers who are leading the research in their fields. This has allowed us to create a varied agenda with topics of interest to most physicians and as a result we are expecting excellent participation from doctors across our region and indeed have already received an unprecedented number of applications.”
In order to find out further information, doctors are invited to visit the MRCA-CY website http://www.mrca-cy.org. Anyone interested in attending the seminar is advised to complete and return the seminar registration form via email, fax or by post and provide payment in order to secure their place as there is now limited seating available. Preferential rates are also available for accommodation at the conference venue, the 5 star Amathus Beach Hotel in Limassol, Cyprus.
