The New York City NAPW Chapter Hosts a Successful Second Meeting

Lisa Brooks, Executive Director of NAPW, instructed NYC Chapter members in how to navigate the NAPW website to their best advantage. Members also developed their future meeting agendas and upcoming topics.

NYC Chapter meeting was held in Mid Town Manhattan on February 17th 2011, in an office space designed by NewwayUSA, the company owned by the president of NYC Chapter, Louise Newsome. The chapter hosted guest speaker Lisa Brooks, Executive Director of NAPW.

The meeting was attended by nine members and the Executive Director of NAPW, Lisa Brooks, who discussed the NAPW web site and field members’ questions.

Members first had the opportunity to meet each other over light refreshments.

"The atmosphere was lively, informal and very friendly," said Louise Newsome, Chapter President. Members informally discussed their business and interests for about an hour.

Attendees gathered around a conference table with lap tops and Lisa Brooks navigated the group through the NAPW web site. Members informed of available features on the NAPW site including webinars, free talks in NYC and the surrounding areas, discounts on many restaurants, hotels flights and more.

Many NYC chapter members were already using the site and helped others in the group to navigate the site and answer questions.

Louise Newsome closed the meeting by reviewing a survey sent to members. Louise discussed potential future meeting topics. The chapter had several ideas, including leadership workshops, entrepreneurship, dealing with the bad economy, marketing and business development, work life balance, learning from each other, meeting with other chapters, time management and how to network efficiently in 2011.
