Lake Ridge Academy Announces New Girls’ Head Basketball Coach

Lake Ridge Academy, a kindergarten through 12th grade college preparatory school, has named Lisa Verhoff-Medvetz as its Girls’ Head Basketball Coach. Athletic Director, Debby Ghezzi, made the official announcement stating, “We are thrilled to have a west side icon with such great playing and coaching experience join the Lake Ridge Academy community. Her experience as a player and coach will not only help our students at this level, but will provide them with direction needed to succeed in college.” In addition, Coach Medvetz will be teaching kindergarten through grade 12 physical education classes.

A native of Elyria, Ohio, Coach Medvetz was a standout player at Elyria High School. She went to Indiana State University on a full ride athletic scholarship, graduating Cum Laude with a sports fitness and exercise physiology degree. “After meeting with students and teachers on Lake Ridge Academy’s campus I knew this was the school to develop my own program at. I look forward to helping create a tradition of success.”

•     Missouri Valley Conference Scholar Athlete in 2004, 2005, and 2006
•     Also played with my older sister, Jessy (Verhoff) Bendik, for 2 years at Indiana State
