"Being notified remotely by phone about an issue before flooding occurs can save thousands of dollars in potential water damage,” said WAYNE's Matt Dempsey. “Peace of mind is only a phone call away with the new Sump Minder technology."

In the age of cell phones that speak to us with a seemingly endless stream of information, wouldn’t it be great if a problem like potential flooding could be monitored and communicated in seconds? Now, that convenience is possible with the WAYNE Sump Minder, a new microprocessor controlled back-up sump pump from WAYNE Water Systems that takes the worry out of sump pump operation by calling you before there’s a problem. It is uniquely designed to gauge urgency and contact the homeowner so they can make informed decisions.

Sump Minder’s one-of-a-kind technology combines self-testing and continuous battery checks with an auto-dial feature connected to a standard phone line. “The homeowner can program up to three different phone numbers,” said Matt Dempsey, Sales Director at WAYNE Water Systems. “No matter where they are, they know exactly what is happening with the sump pump at home.”

The Sump Minder voice message starts out by saying, “Hello, this is your sump pump calling,” and then provides four main messages and their urgency: check for power outage, check for low battery, back-up pump is in operation or there’s an issue with the back-up pump. It self-tests up to 17 different conditions, so the next part of the voice message will say: electric power has been interrupted, electric power has been restored, etc. The unit also includes a connection for a third party security system, if the homeowner prefers the call first be routed to the monitoring security company.

Sump Minder’s powerful 12V pump handles 3,300 Gallons per hour at 0 feet. The system’s special Smart Charging technology keeps the 12V deep cycle battery (not included) at optimal charge levels and eliminates false battery charge readouts. The Sump Minder operates with any 12V deep cycle battery, no matter the brand or type. “We recommend our WAYNE AGM deep cycle battery, which is maintenance-free—though the software will properly alert and optimally recharge any deep cycle battery,” says Dempsey.

No matter the season, storms and water problems can cause severe damage, and prevention can make all the difference, according to Dempsey. “Being notified remotely by phone about an issue before flooding occurs can save thousands of dollars in potential water damage,” he said. “Peace of mind is only a phone call away with the new Sump Minder technology.”

The new WAYNE Sump Minder will be available in hardware stores and home centers nationwide in late August. Updates on availability will be posted on the WAYNE website at http://www.waynepumps.com and Facebook page at http://www.facebook.com/WayneWaterSystems.
