Corporate AV President Joe Guilderson Honored with 2011 APEX Award

Westchester County Association acknowledges Guilderson’s small business leadership.

"It is a great honor to recognize Joe Guilderson with our 2011 APEX Small Business Award,” said Westchester County Association President William Mooney.

Joe Guilderson, owner and president of Corporate Audio Visual Services (Corporate AV), was recently honored with the 2011 APEX Small Business Award from the Westchester County Association. Guilderson was among five honorees at the association’s fall leadership dinner and fifth annual APEX Awards, held at the Doubletree Hotel Tarrytown and attended by 600 business leaders and guests. The Westchester County Association Inc.,, is a business-based membership organization committed to addressing public policy issues with respect to business advocacy and economic development on behalf of the region’s corporate and not-for-profit organizations. Corporate AV provided audio visual services for the event.

Joe was recognized for his leadership and transformation of Corporate AV in the years since joining the firm in 2005 as an account executive. He purchased the company in 2006. Today, Corporate AV offers production technology and complete audiovisual services, sells state-of-the-art equipment, designs and installs permanent audiovisual systems for organizations, and provides a source for all maintenance and repair, while continuing to excel in its original business, live event production. New business lines contributed close to 20% of total corporate revenue in 2011. In June 2010, Corporate AV opened a new Boston sales office to expand its live event business into the New England region. Joe was recognized in 2008 with as a Westchester 40 Under 40 Rising Star by the Westchester Business Council.

Joe believes in supporting the community, whether hiring employees, purchasing services and supplies, or reaching out to area organizations. Corporate AV under Joe’s direction has expanded its involvement in fundraisers for non-profits, creatively structuring and pricing its services to help maximize the amount of money raised. By helping set the right mood and generate positive “buzz” at events for county organizations such as ArtsWestchester, the American Heart Association, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, and Support Connection, helping those organizations to raise over $1 million to support services in Westchester County. Corporate AV also has worked on events for Northern Westchester Hospital, Maria Ferrari Children’s Hospital, Hudson Valley Hospital, Blythedale Children’s Hospital, Morry’s Camp, and Trump National Golf Course.
