EMSI to Provide Electronic Data Collection for Banner Life Applications

Through the addition of two of EMSI’s eINFORM Platform services, Legal & General America (the new brand identity for Banner Life Insurance Company), can now offer its life insurance distribution channel the convenience of having the medical history (Part II) form for Banner applications collected electronically, either via phone or onsite at the time of the exam utilizing a laptop.

To date, customers using EMSI’s eINFORM Platform services are experiencing up to a 32% reduction in cycle time and nearly 100% of life applications in good order, said Chad Gross, Chief Operating Officer, Insurance Services, EMSI.

Examination Management Services, Inc. (EMSI), the market leader in medical information, risk management and investigative services, is now providing Legal & General America and its distribution channels with IGO Exam and IGO Mobile paramedical exam services nationwide. Legal & General America is a long-time paramedical exam and APS customer of EMSI. These new service offerings fundamentally change the way paramedical exams have traditionally been conducted for Legal & General America and its distribution channels and will greatly enhance speed-to-policy issuance, offer greater applicant satisfaction and provide complete and legible life insurance applications.

Through IGO Exam, applicant medical information is collected through a centralized, technology-driven application team that completes a short telephone interview with the applicant using EMSI’s proprietary scripting methodology. At the interview conclusion, the application specialist immediately schedules the onsite physical exam using EMSI’s web-based scheduling tool, ScheduleEZ. This single point of telephonic contact shortens processing cycle times, reduces manual errors, creates an audit trail for regulatory compliance with a recorded transcript and shortens the onsite physical exam to approximately 20 minutes.

With IGO Mobile, the medical history (Part II) form of the life insurance application is electronically collected by an EMSI examiner through the use of a laptop at the time of the applicant’s exam. The examiner inputs the applicant’s information into a secure, online carrier-specific Part II form and obtains an electronic signature. The fully completed Part II is immediately transmitted to the carrier and posted on EMSI’s online ordering and statusing tool, EMSIOnline.

“When EMSI announced its new eINFORM Platform and IGO suite of services, we were thrilled with the robust technology and automated processes,” said Eric Lester, Vice President of Administrative Services, Legal & General America. “We are always looking for ways to decrease time to policy issuance, improve applicant satisfaction and reduce overall risk. With EMSI’s IGO Exam and IGO Mobile service offerings, we’re processing Banner applications that are more complete and faster than ever – while offering our distribution channel a 21st century way to do business.”

“Since we launched the eINFORM Platform in November 2010, we’ve received an overwhelmingly positive response from the industry,” said Chad Gross, Chief Operating Officer, Insurance Services, EMSI. “Our focus continues to be on developing and delivering innovative solutions to enhance our customers’ business. To date, customers using EMSI’s eINFORM Platform services are experiencing up to a 32% reduction in cycle time and nearly 100% of life applications in good order.”

EMSI offers four services as part of the eINFORM Platform including IGO App, IGO Exam, IGO Mobile and their newest offering, Concierge Exam, which includes centralized scheduling and continuous structured, yet personable follow up with applicants, ensuring the paramedical exam is scheduled quickly.
