I thought: there really should be a free alternative to eBay.

There are many paid sites available which provide powerful selling tools, such as eBay (http://www.ebay.com) and Bonanza. But when it comes to free selling websites, netizens are generally limited to Craigslist, a useful but limited tool.
Vendalism.com hopes to change this by providing powerful selling tools, such as the ability to create a listing which sells at both a fixed price as well as an online auction.
Other powerful tools are also provided, such as seller and buyer feedback, automatic cross-listing to Google’s Product Search index, integration with PayPal and Google Wallet, social sharing links for Twitter and Facebook, and the option to automatically submit listings to Craigslist.
As an added bonus, cross-listings to Craigslist protect Vendalism users’ emails by requiring that inquiries be submitted through a web form, preventing automated spam from being sent – something Craigslist users usually have to worry about while their listing is active.
“I’ve been using eBay since about the time it was first launched. A few years ago, it occurred to me – why should I have to pay to sell my items?” says Marcos Boyington, co-founder of Vendalism.com. “I thought: there really should be a free alternative to eBay.”
“By making Vendalism.com easy-to-use, powerful, yet free, we think we’ve created a website which is a powerful tool for netizens wanting to sell their products,” says Boyington.
Vendalism.com (http://vendalism.com), a free online classifieds and auctions site launched in December 2011 and created by Yuniti, aims to be intuitive, friendly, powerful, and safe. It was started by Marcos Boyington and Mateus Boyington, with no external funding of any kind. YUNiTi is a privately held partnership headquartered in Riverside, Calif., and can be contacted at http://vendalism.com/Message/ContactUs.
