Veteran software developer Ai2 announced today that longtime client J. Polep Distribution Services of Chicopee, Massachusetts, will implement Ai2's Pigeonholes for iPad for content management and document distribution to its outside sales team. Pigeonholes is an app designed to distribute and manage critical business documents and files from a central location to hundreds or thousands of remote iPads. "With the amount of paper that gets printed for color flyers and reports and A/R and everything, this app can save companies a lot of money and manpower." The application is designed to replace paper-based processes for distributing documents to a field sales force that serves almost all of New England.

Responding to their clients' need to distribute flyers, reports, item images and various other media to a field sales force, Ai2 designed Pigeonholes to digitize and automate what has become a tedious process for many companies. The application is not a cloud storage solution, but a fast synchronization between one central server and hundreds or thousands of field iPads.
"A field sales rep needs access to hundreds of documents as well as other tools to make presentations to customers. Printing all that in color costs some of our clients hundreds or thousands of dollars per month." In addition to the printer savings, Pigeonholes makes far easier to "correct a mistake electronically and control the flow of information to the field."

Other Pigeonholes features include the ability to instantly send messages to all field iPads from a central location. Katich stressed that since many Ai2 clients are in foodservice and sell perishable items, this can prevent over-ordering and assist in the event of a product recall.
