We've seen the economy turn upside down. Clients that had access to capital and credit for large quantity purchases have seen those resources vanish. Giving our clients the option to lease or finance our products was imperative for our growth.

ParknPool Corp is bucking economic trends by posting growth in sales and staffing, along with other significant changes during 2011. While enjoying the first full year in their new green Operations Center, (opened in December 2010), the leading online retailer of outdoor furnishings and site amenities saw growth in many areas over the past year. While some retailers were dealing with a drop in sales, ParknPool saw a significant rise over the previous year. ParknPool sales of picnic tables, park benches, restaurant booths, pool furniture, bleachers, playgrounds and sporting equipment saw a fifteen percent increase in sales from 2010.
Escalated sales were made possible with the expansion of the ParknPool workforce. Over the year, ParknPool initiated a Customer Service team, and grew its Sales, Marketing, and Logistics departments. Overall, ParknPool increased their staff by nearly thirty-three percent during 2011. Marketing Manager, Laura Dudley, explains why this growth was imperative; “As an internet-based company, Sales and Marketing are vital in our daily operations. This year we really recognized the need to take our Marketing to the next level – to become true experts in our field. We added skilled employees to our team, built a state-of-the-art photo and video studio, maximized our website, and took advantage of ongoing education to aid us in our goal of providing our clients with a phenomenal experience, while continuing to grow our business.”
Along with employee growth, ParknPool’s product line and services also grew, expanding their market reach to areas that were previously not possible. The major additions for 2011 were playgrounds for children aged 2-12, and a leasing option. “In the last few years, we have seen the economy turn upside down. Clients that had access to capital and credit for large quantity purchases have seen those resources vanish. We know our client base and the need for bleachers, playgrounds, shade structures or outdoor furniture remains, so giving our clients the option to lease or finance our products was imperative for our growth. It doesn’t hurt that we are the only company of our kind to offer leasing to our clients,” explains General Manager, John Good.
Giving back to communities has always been something that ParknPool believed in. Using social media ParknPool raised awareness and donations for the Susan G. Komen Foundation and the American Cancer Society (Relay for Life). ParknPool was able to give more than ever, increasing their donations by fifty percent! For the past three years, ParknPool has been sponsoring a young girl through Compassion International. At the beginning of 2011, they added a young boy as well, and these two children receive monthly packages of letters and photos from the employees. When a local pool was in desperate need of new pool furniture, but didn’t have the funds to purchase any, ParknPool donated chaise lounges, table sets and trash receptacles. “I am proud to work for a company that cares about the local community, national and international organizations. It’s a great feeling to help those in need, whether it be sending care packages to soldiers overseas, or raising money for research,” states Graphic Designer, Sarah Sorrells.
