The annual Corvallis Culinary Week January 22-28th 2012, attracts visitors and locals for an amazing display of culinary delights from Corvallis Restaurants for a very special Culinary Week Celebration price.

In what has become a staple "foodie" celebration in honor of the New Year...Corvallis restaurants are celebrating their fourth "Corvallis Culinary Week" January 22nd to January 28th, 2012.

The first of these celebrations was created by Visit Corvallis, the destination marketing organization for the city. In early 2009, a series of heavy snow storms slammed the area and ruined the 2008 December holiday revenues for key Corvallis restaurants. Visit Corvallis devised Culinary Week as a way to bring business to these restaurants and prevent them from closing.

The Corvallis Culinary Week offers Chef's specialty dinners for only $10 pp. The Chef’s plates will be paired with the perfect local Benton County wines, (not included in price).

Longtime Corvallis residents eagerly embrace the chance to sample the finest culinary delights local restaurants have to offer. Local newcomers and visitors alike filled participating restaurants to capacity every night of Culinary Weeks 2009, 2010, and 2011.

For 2012, participating Chefs are:
1.    Chef Conor Claffey-Koller, 101 Eat and Drink
2.    Chef Jason Biga, Aqua Seafood Restaurant Bar
3.    Chef Conor Claffey-Koller, Big River
4.    Chef Ko Atteberry, Cloud 9
5.    Chef Mitch Rosenbaum, Del Alma
6.    Chef Ian Hutchings, Luc
7.    Chef Kimber Hoang, Magenta
8.    Chef Hamid Serdani, Terminus
9.    Chef Intaba, FireWorks

Culinary Week attendees who sign up for Visit Corvallis’ “Foodies” eNewsletter are entered for a chance to win dinner for two from a participating restaurant. (Dinners must be redeemed outside the Culinary Week time period.)

Participants are invited to congratulate their favorite Corvallis restaurant by checking into the restaurant on http://www.foursquare.com. The Chef/restaurant with the most reviews will be awarded a free holiday on the coast and a stay at the lovely Hallmark Resort in Newport, OR.

Media "pre-tastings" and photo-ops will be offered the week prior to January 22nd by special arrangement through Visit Corvallis. Please contact Marci Sischo or Christie Weigel at (541) 757-1544. Or, info(at)visitcorvallis(dot)com.
