I couldn’t find a place to meet other politically minded people and share ideas and perspectives on the big issues of the day. So I started iPolitics360.
New York, NY (PRWEB) January 03, 2012
iPolitics360 today announced the launch of its website, ipolitics360.com, the first social media platform focused on politics. By creating a global political community, iPolitics360 puts citizens back at the center of the political process and provides a platform for them to share and defend the ideals, principles, and core values that matter most to them.
With forums, polls, chat functionality, and profiles, iPolitics360 lets people from around the world share opinions and beliefs about today’s most important issues. Members can connect with each other and participate in an ongoing, relevant, open conversation about the political issues, events, elections, and people that affect our daily lives.
“Politics isn’t just about politicians and taxes and legislation,” says Thierry Trottereau, the founder of iPolitics360. “It’s about freedom and rights and your day-to-day experience. It’s about your life. My hope is that iPolitics360 helps remind people that their voices are a vital part of any country’s political process.”
During its 12 months beta period, iPolitics360 has had 958 members sign up, representing 67 countries and a wide variety of political beliefs and orientations. Members can create a profile with their photo, country, occupation, and political orientation, and are also invited to share their perspective on 10 hot-button issues (including the death penalty, nuclear weapons, torture, and gay marriage) as a way to introduce themselves to the community.
iPolitics360 has no political agenda of its own and is dedicated to creating a global conversation of mutual respect, where members can share their values, agree or disagree with each other, learn more about today’s world, and meet people from around the world. Members can also post information about events, opportunities for activism, and requests for charitable donations.
“The Arab uprisings, the London riots, the culture wars of the U.S. — we’re living in a time of incredible political engagement around the world,” says Mr. Trottereau. “As someone who has always been deeply fascinated by politics, I couldn’t find a place to meet other politically minded people and share ideas and perspectives on the big issues of the day. So I started iPolitics360.”
iPolitics360 can be found at ipolitics360.com. Membership is free, and participation highly encouraged.
