GirlsAskGuys.com, a leading dating & relationship advice site, has achieved a goal of raising $1,000 for charity: water, non-profit organization bringing clean and safe drinking water to people in developing nations. Members redeemed Xper points for a donation to charity: water, made in their GirlsAskGuys user name.
GirlsAskGuys uses the Xper Point System to recognize every member of our site for their valuable contribution to the community. The system calculates scores based upon participation, and rewards members with Xper points, which are earned by signing up, asking and answering questions, following GirlsAskGuys on Twitter, becoming a fan on Facebook, and writing articles.
These Xper points can be redeemed for prizes, including Amazon gift certificates, Netflix subscriptions, GirlsAskGuys apparel, and more! In October, a new prize was introduced: the option to redeem Xper points for a donation to charity: water, made in their user name. Members could redeem 3000 points for a $15 donation, or 6000 points for a $30 donation.
On October 14, 2011, GirlsAskGuys launched their Xper Donations Campaign, setting a goal of $1,000 by the end of 2011. Nearly 40 members participated, raising $1,000 to fund a drilling rig in northern Ethiopia.
100% of every dollar funds the charity: water projects. Once a campaign ends, charity: water tracks the drilling rig with a GPS device, allowing donors to follow its progress for years to come!
