KidsRule resorts report increased numbers holiday week

New Year’s is the time to make resolutions for a more healthy, active lifestyle for your family, and KidsRule Mountain Camps are the best way to achieve that resolution.

KidsRule Mountain Camps are based on the successful learning programs at Jiminy Peak, Cranmore Mountain Resort, and Bromley Mountain, three New England mountains known for their heritage of superior skiing and riding instruction across generations of families. KidsRule Mountain Camps combine the best practices of more than 120 years of teaching experience to offer a fresh approach to instruction.

According to three resorts’ CEO, Brian Fairbank, “Skiing and snowboarding are effective ways to keep children and adults active in winter Learning to ski or ride early creates the potential for a lifetime avocation that can get children and adults out of the house each winter.”

A Healthy 2012
The KidsRule Mountain Camps are supportive of the national “Let’s Move!” campaign that raises awareness of the national childhood obesity crisis and focuses on getting children physically active and outside. The “Let’s Move” website (http://www.letsmove.gov) recommends keeping children focused on their own health, staying active and eating well - and in winter, snow sports are a great way to stay healthy. Some of the pillars of the campaign are to encourage children to try a new physical activity, and to for families to find time to spend together doing a fun activity.

Skiers/Riders head to the slopes over the holiday break
If Christmas week 2011 was any indication, many families are already making the move to the slopes. Collectively, the three resorts’ Kids Rule enrollment numbers were up over last year, and came close to having a record year. Fairbank chalks up the increase to the resorts’ focus on snowmaking and learning terrain for the holiday period.

On the heels of their successful holiday week, the resorts are now rolling out special deals to families as part of their January “White Sale.” All three mountains will give families $15 off all online 2-day reservations for KidsRule Mountain Camps for midweek/non-holiday periods. This discount is on top of the programs’ already generous program which gives kids a resort season pass after completing four KidsRule Camps at Cranmore or six KidsRule Camps at Bromley or Jiminy Peak.

Each mountain also features a money-saving E-coupons savings program. Families are encouraged to visit each resorts’ website to see the latest deals, which offer deeply discounted lift tickets and more.
