The California Association of Bed & Breakfast Innkeepers (CABBI) will host its 21st annual InnSpire Conference and Trade Show January 22-24, 2012 in Sacramento, California. This year’s InnSpire conference will feature seminars on Internet marketing strategies, social media, ADA compliancy, securing systems against identity theft, crisis communication and more.

Unlike other segments of the lodging industry where staffing is large enough to permit employees to focus on individual areas of expertise, bed and breakfast innkeepers wear dozens of hats, ranging from chef to gardener to housekeeper to online marketing strategist. "Keeping up with all of the skills required to run a bed and breakfast can be overwhelming--especially as it relates to technology--but it's critical to the innkeepers' success with so many travel decisions made online,” says CABBI Program Coordinator Jenn Wheaton. “The InnSpire conference helps to bridge the gap and provide in-depth information that innkeepers can put to use.”

Jim Beazley, who has owned the Beazley House Bed & Breakfast Inn in Napa for 30 years, is a regular attendee of the conference. "CABBI's InnSpire conferences have taken us from doilies to data sheets and armed us with tools we've used to lead the hospitality industry despite our small numbers and even smaller properties," said Beazley.

Just prior to the InnSpire conference, CABBI will host its annual Innkeeping as a Profession workshop. The two-day workshop, January 21-22, 2012, provides aspiring innkeepers with a behind-the-scenes look into the innkeeping lifestyle. Sessions include: finding the perfect inn, financing, marketing, operations and more. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask veteran innkeepers their toughest questions, as well as attend the InnSpire opening reception and trade show.

Both InnSpire and Innkeeping as a Profession will be held at the Holiday Inn Capitol Plaza in Sacramento. For more information, visit http://www.innspireconference.com. For more information about CABBI, visit http://www.cabbi.com.
