New Orleans, LA (PRWEB) January 05, 2012
A new survey released by the Project Management Institute (PMI) involving 30,000 practitioners in 29 countries confirms that project management is one of the hottest professions in the marketplace.
Which raises the question: How does someone determine if she or he is suited to become a project manager?
To help answer that, the Project Management Professionals (PMPs) at Cheetah Learning (http://www.CheetahLearning.com) are offering the “Cheetah Exam Prep for the PMP Exam Baseline Assessment” – and it’s free. The offering is part of Cheetah’s theme for January: “Project Management of Prosperity.”
The course is available at http://www.CheetahLearning.com and takes about an hour to complete. Instructions are provided upon registration. Material needed to accomplish the exam is provided online.
“At Cheetah Learning, we have helped 35,000 people become PMP certified, and at an accelerated pace, over the past 10 years,” said Michelle LaBrosse, CEO and founder of Cheetah Learning.
In addition, PMI has selected LaBrosse as one of the 25 Most Influential Women in Project Management in the World, and Cheetah earned the prestigious PMI Professional Development Provider of the Year award in 2008 for the Cheetah Exam Prep for the PMP program.
The objective for the free “Cheetah Exam Prep for the PMP Exam Baseline Assessment” is to help participants determine their readiness for PMI's PMP exam as well as assess their strengths and weaknesses with material that is associated with that exam.
And there’s no better time to discover a propensity for project management, which according to PMI’s research, is “one of the hottest professions out there.”
The 7th edition of the “PMI Project Management Salary Survey” confirms that project manager salaries continue to climb worldwide, indicating that project management professionals are in strong demand.
Here are some key numbers from the survey about project management:
The median annualized salary in the U.S. is $105,000.
Seventy-one percent of respondents said their compensation (including salary, bonus and other benefits) had increased over the previous 12 months.
Nearly 33 percent reported increases of at least 5 percent of total compensation in the last year.
“These numbers are great news for project managers who are looking to expand their careers with new skills, individuals who may be interested in a career change and those who are coming out of school or military service and considering what job would best suit their future goals,” said Mark A. Langley, President and CEO of Project Management Institute.
Taking Cheetah's PMP Exam Baseline Assessment will help participants determine if they are ready to take advantage of the opportunities available within the field of project management.
If the answer is “Yes,” then Cheetah Learning also offers a variety of Tips, Tools and Deals to move down that path, each of which can be accessed by filling out the online form at http://www.CheetahLearning.com.
These offerings include the PMP Exam Prep SmartStart Guide, PMP Practice Exam, 2 PDU Skills Assessment Course, and the Getting Started with PM Guide. Also, each month Cheetah present multiple “great deals” on Professional Development Units (PDUs).
