Philadelphia Insurance Companies (PHLY), one of the leading providers of nonprofit insurance, is partnering with Abuse Prevention Systems to host an educational training on reducing the risk of sexual abuse in nonprofit programs. Nonprofit professionals and insurance agents will learn cost-effective risk management tools to help protect children and charitable organizations.

Several high-profile incidents have pushed this conversation into the national spotlight. The training will prepare nonprofits and agents with best practices to promote child safety and prevent abuse. The discussion will define sexual abuse, explain common errors and misconceptions, examine the reporting responsibilities of authorities and supervisors, and introduce effective and inexpensive tools for reducing the risk of sexual abuse. The seminar will be held on Friday, January 13, 2012 from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. at Saint Joseph’s University’s Mandeville Hall in Philadelphia.

Gregory Love, Director of Abuse Prevention Systems and partner at the firm of Love & Norris will lead this training. Love and Norris have developed a national sexual abuse litigation practice, representing hundreds of victims of child sexual abuse. In addition, the firm represents secular organizations and ministries in legal matters related to child safety and sexual abuse. Abuse Prevention Systems provides Sexual Abuse Awareness Training (live and online) and assist child care entities and children’s organizations in the design and implementation of safety systems which reduce the risk of child sexual abuse.

Insurance professionals in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware can earn two continuing education credits by attending the seminar. For information on registration, visit or contact Chelsea Erario at cerario(at)phly(dot)com. This event may be postponed due registration or scheduling conflicts.
