Arlington, VA (PRWEB) January 06, 2012
On Thursday, January 12 from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m. EST, Dr. Robert Cialdini, leading behavioral scientist and Opower advisor, will host a webinar to discuss how marketers can use behavioral science to improve their effectiveness. This will be the latest in Opower’s “The Power of Energy Information” webinar series.
Successful persuasion is central to success in most roles but many factors, such as an uncertain economy, can make this challenging. Professor Cialdini will provide an overview of six universal principles of successful persuasion and then dive into examples and supporting research on how marketers can use these principles to drive success in their efforts.
The webinar is intended for marketing or communications professionals, customer service leaders or those who are generally curious about how to become more effective at channeling successful outcomes.
Dr. Robert Cialdini has completed extensive academic work in the psychology of influence and over 30 years of research on the subject have earned him an international reputation in the fields of persuasion, compliance, and negotiation. He spent much of the past decade studying conservation and efficiency, and his books, including Influence: Science & Practice, are the result of years of inquiry into the reasons people comply with requests in business settings. Worldwide, Influence has sold more than two million copies. In the field of influence and persuasion, Robert is the most-cited living social psychologist in the world today. He received his PhD from the University of North Carolina and his post-doctoral training from Columbia University. He has held Visiting Scholar appointments at Ohio State, the University of California, the Annenberg School of Communications, and Stanford Graduate School of Business.
