Acquity Group LLC, a leading global brand eCommerce and digital marketing company, announced today that its strong growth in 2011 prompted the addition of 190 new hires throughout the year, putting total employee headcount at 475.

To support Acquity Group’s continued growth and its expanding creative practice, the company recently hired several creative leaders with impressive backgrounds in design, branding and user experience. Joining Chicago’s creative studio are Dru Jennett, Creative Director, and Sal Cilella, Director of Interaction Design. Hung Vu will join the Los Angeles creative team, serving as Group Creative Director for Acquity Group’s west coast studio which covers LA, Irvine and Seattle.
Jennett brings eleven years’ experience in branding and advertising for global brands, working on accounts such as Virgin America and Callaway Golf. He previously held positions as Digital Design Director at Eleven Inc., Interactive Creative Director at Digital Kitchen and Associate Creative Director at Leo Burnett.
As Director of Interaction Design at Acquity Group, Cilella will focus on developing the capabilities of Acquity Group’s interaction design team and will lead teams in creating engaging consumer experiences that generate measurable value for new and existing clients across devices. Prior to joining Acquity Group, Cilella was an Associate Partner at gravitytank, where he founded and led their interaction design practice. He has extensive experience guiding large global brands across a range of digital media, and significant expertise in designing next-generation mobile experiences - including work with clients like Samsung, Cricket, and Qualcomm.
Vu, as Group Creative Director for Acquity’s West Coast studio, will define creative strategy and manage the design direction for client engagements. During his career, he has worked with clients including IBM, HP, Microsoft, and Adobe. Before joining Acquity Group, Vu was Marketing Director at Fusion-io, Regional Creative Director at Siegel & Gale, and held Creative Director positions at Sapient and DIGITAS.

In addition to new offices in San Francisco and Seattle this year, Acquity Group also opened an office in New York City. This presence supports a rapidly growing New York Metropolitan and international client base that consists of brands like Saks Fifth Avenue, L’Oreal, MAC, MetLife and JP Morgan Chase. Acquity Group also introduced new locations in Beijing and Shanghai, China to accommodate a new practice area focused on extending global brands into the China consumer market.
