Superior, Wisconsin (PRWEB) January 06, 2012
Superior IRON-ARTz LLC announced today the launch of a public funding project at Kickstarter.com to create the Great Lakes Metal Wall Art collection. The collection will consist of steel silhouettes of each of the great lakes, Lake Superior, Michigan, Huron, Erie and finally Ontario. The initial design will include engraving themes such as bathymetric lines at various depth ranges where available, points-of-interest (both historical and natural), shipwrecks, lighthouses and other options as they are developed. In some cases additional silhouettes for specific points-of-interest that lend themselves well to the medium will be produced to compliment the collection.
Steve Christensen, owner of Superior IRON-ARTz stated “This project will allow us to expand our manufacturing capabilities and presents an opportunity to really test the waters for product designs before we are fully into the production phase. It‘s a great opportunity to develop to the customers‘ needs and to expand market opportunities.” Kickstarter.com is a public funding platform focused on a broad spectrum of creative projects.
The Great Lakes Wall Art collection project is an attempt to portray some of the prominent points-of-interest, historical events, culture and beauty that are seen every day in the great lakes basin. “The great lakes region has a rich, varied and colorful history. Attempting to capture this in a way that is unique, long lasting and inspiring presents a very exciting challenge. This is a project that we are very interested in pursuing and getting feedback from our supporters is key to making this a truly successful project.” said Mr. Christensen.
The company will be maintaining a blog about the project at http://www.iron-artz.com/blog and you can watch the progress of the project itself at http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/superior-iron-artz/great-lakes-metal-wall-art-collection
