Melanie Jane’s new nonfiction book “A Couples Handbook: Understanding and Negotiating Relationships” (published by Balboa Press) gives couples psychological insight into relationships and can be used as a guide to help transform and navigate through them.

“In understanding why we create the relationships we do we can then take the necessary steps to effect positive change in our lives and in our relationships,” Jane writes. “Through our willingness to commit to a process of growing, changing and letting go, we are able to use communication and the process of alchemy to provide a safe pathway to transform our negative thoughts, emotions and conditioning and reclaim the freedom to be ourselves and thrive in our relationships and lives.”

Jane’s book affirms that relationships can be incredible gifts with a simple understanding about how they work and how to work with them. They can both be very joyful, loving and fulfilling experiences but at the same time can be very painful, destructive and devastating as well. Being aware of the how relationships are created and the challenges they can bring are essential in being able to work with them to create more happy and positive relationships.

“Through sharing clearing insights, examples and practical tools this book serves to remind us that relationships are made up of both the ‘I’ and ‘we’ energies,” Jane says. “It is the interweaving of these energies, through taking responsibility for ourselves and understanding each other, that creates a sacred union and happier, more fulfilling and balanced relationships together in love and gratitude.”
