Ever Google search “How long to cook corn on the cob?” or “How long to bake a potato?” Howlongtocook.com is a new website designed to give users one comprehensive site of cook times.
Howlongtocook.com is simple and easy to navigate. Cook times are categorized alphabetically, and include all types of food, ranging from meats to fish to vegetables. And cook times cover a variety of means of preparation, including baked, boiled, fried, and grilled. Additionally, Howlongtocook.com features a complete recipe once a month, as well as several tips and articles related to food and cooking, and a discussion area where users can post and answer food-related questions.
“The concept for Howlongtocook.com came from conversations with friends who were always either Googling cook times or calling their mothers for help,” said founder Daniel Lussier. “That’s when I began looking for a website that addressed this issue, and quickly discovered that there wasn’t anything out there like this.”
Cook times are added every day, and users can submit or request cook times for specific foods. All cook times are verified and taken from professional food sources. “Our goal is to help simplify cooking,” said Lussier. “There are a lot of instances where you’re in the kitchen cooking, without a recipe, and all you need to know is how long to cook whatever you’re making. Howlongtocook.com is meant to answer that question.”
