Proteus Networks Launches Proteus Elite: Online Lab System for Juniper Certification Training

Graded, mentored labs allow engineers to practice hands-on configuration skills using real Juniper equipment running the Junos Operating System.

Proteus Networks announced today the launch of Proteus Elite: Online Labs system, a hands-on, lab environment with proctors to help engineers prepare for Juniper certification exams.

The labs are structured, 60-90 minute exercises on dedicated equipment that have a known starting configuration and a defined set of tasks to complete. In addition to the hands-on equipment experience, Proteus Elite simulates the Junos written certification exams with computerized multiple choice review exams.

At the completion of a lab, the Proteus Elite system automatically grades students and immediately reports back results. Not only can Proteus Elite evaluate success based on the configurations of the devices, but it also assesses the live state of the network by reading routing tables, evaluating database structures and performing ping tests. The system also highlights what was completed incorrectly and how to correct it for the future. Furthermore, at anytime during lab exercises, participants can have the system generate a score report to evaluate progress to-date.

As part of Proteus Elite, Proteus Networks’ expert, JNCIE-level engineers are available for proctoring and mentoring support - via email and web chat - before, during and after the lab exercise to maximize learning in the allotted timeframes.

Proteus Networks designed the labs to meet the scheduling needs of its participants. Proteus Elite uses an automated, online service that allows users to schedule lab time when it’s most convenient.

“Proteus Elite is ideal for the individual user or for enterprises looking to get an edge on their Juniper certification exams and operational experience. The system also benefits VARs that need convenient, affordable ways to provide staff and end customers with the training necessary for certification on the most up-to-date, advanced solutions in the marketplace,” stated Joseph Soricelli, CEO, Proteus Networks. “Proteus Elite allows engineers to arrange the right training at the right time, so they are still able to focus on core work activities and maximize training dollars.”

Currently available for JNCIA certification training, Proteus will provide additional labs for the JNCIS, JNCIP and JNCIE exams. Proteus Elite is $50 per month per user or can be purchased for a bundled price of $100 for three months.
