The Winter Fancy Food Show begins in San Francisco on 15th of January 2012. The show highlights the best of gourmet food, and would not be complete without beef and pork meat from Europe. Representatives of the European meat industry will promote the EU's meat as part of the international campaign, “Tradition, quality and European taste.”

MEAT QUALITY AND VOLUME OF EU EXPORTS TO USA
European meat is a combination of tradition and modernity. Strict rules regulate every stage of production, processing and distribution, while experienced breeders care about getting a unique flavor and juiciness. Taking care at each element of the food chain ensures high-quality meat. It displays in its unique taste and values obtained during the culinary processing as well as technological parameters level, which are appreciated and sought out by processors and traders.
Annually, the European Union exports more than 40 million tons of pork and approximately 120,000 tonnes of beef to the United States, who are the fifth consumer market of meat in the world (275 lbs per capita). European producers appreciate the U.S. market and aim to meet the most demanding needs of American consumers.

CAMPAIGN STAND AT THE WINTER FANCY FOOD SHOW
At the stand of the "Tradition, quality and European taste" campaign it will be possible to learn everything about the European meat industry. A wide range of publications and informational materials such as catalogs, brochures, flyers will be prepared. It will be a great source of knowledge for European production of meat - from animal husbandry conditions, production standards, and practice of certifying the production, which ensures European Union’s food security. European producers who will be present at the exhibition will be pleased to answer any questions about the European meat, its production, regulations and certificates concerning production and import.

STAND ATTRACTIONS
Campaign organizers made every effort to ensure that guests will have the opportunity to become familiar with the taste of European cuisine. Many attractions will be waiting for campaign stand’s guests - team of the best European chefs, invites you to the stand for degustation of typical meat-dishes from Europe during the whole fair period. Visitors will have the unique opportunity to meet the taste of European cuisine during special events accompanying the fairs called European Cuisine Days, which will be taking place in two restaurants.

The informational and promotional campaign “Tradition, quality and European taste” is being implemented by the Union of Producers and Employers of Meat Industry (UPEMI) – an organization grouping employers representing the meat sector in general. Through its activity, UPEMI supports and protects the interests of affiliated entities and it is also actively involved in activities promoting meat industry throughout the world. The project is being co-financed by the European Union and the Republic of Poland. The campaign is being carried out on three markets simultaneously: the US, South Korea and Vietnam.
