Sakura of America is excited to announce the launch of new Koi® Coloring Brush pens. Koi Coloring Brushes are water-based, flexible brush pens that can be blended and layered together to create endless color combinations and effects. These pens perform similar to an artist’s brush and you can make fine, medium, or bold brush strokes simply by changing the amount of pressure to the nib.
Sakura’s Koi family of products is known for its vibrant hues, the ease of blending colors together, and the superior interaction with water. The new Koi Coloring Brushes are an excellent addition to this line. Koi Coloring Brush Pens contain an odorless, dye-based ink that facilitates easy blending. Heavier strokes can efficiently cover large areas with seamless color, while lighter strokes can create small details. The transparent style ink allows for layering of color. The pens are available in 48 vivid colors and in colorless blender pens which allow for smooth washes and color gradations. You can also use Koi Coloring Brushes with water and a paintbrush to create a wash effect.
Phuong-Mai Bui-Quang, a manga artist and owner of PMBQ Studios says, “I'm very pleased with the Koi Coloring Brush Pens, as they pass the test of daily usage of sketching, drawing and coloring while retaining their fine brush tips! I use them over pencils for a sketchy look, and also over inked Pigma Micron artwork for more finished color pieces. Also, having the ability to blend the vibrant colors is a great alternative to watercolors! I love how these pens have expanded my portable drawing options.”
Koi Coloring Brushes are a convenient, no-mess way to add vibrant color to any sketch, journal, cartoon, illustration, or rubber stamp. They are ideal for quick sketches and commissions at conventions and don’t require the artist to carry multiple sizes of the same color to achieve dynamic results.
