Gainco, Inc., a leading manufacturer of yield management, packing and distribution systems for meat and poultry processors, announces an agreement with Viking Masek Global Packaging Technologies, in which Gainco has been named the exclusive authorized distributor and reseller of Viking vertical form-fill-seal packaging machinery and systems to the poultry processing industry in the U.S.A.

The agreement became effective on November 1, 2011.

Viking is one of the world’s best-established brands in the VFFS (vertical form-fill-seal) field. Its machines are recognized for their rugged design that delivers superior performance along with ease of use and long-term reliability.

An example of Viking equipment that is ideally suited for the poultry processing environment is the VFFS ES-400 model. This ultra-sanitary VFFS unit easily withstands the harshest chemical washdown procedures. This unit is perfect for bagging fresh and frozen poultry products. Its open, easy-access design features a full stainless steel angled frame and servo-drive actuation. It operates at speeds up to 60 cycles per minute, while accommodating all popular bag styles such as flat-bottom, gusseted, Euroslot/hole punch and pillow styles.

The ES-400 unit can accommodate many function options and accessories, infeed and takeaway containers. It integrates seamlessly into existing poultry processing operations, including operations utilizing fillers, printers, metal detectors, label applicators, checkweighers and other equipment.

Commenting on the new sales agreement with Viking Masek Global Packaging Technologies, Don Esch, president of Gainco stated, “We’re pleased to have been named the exclusive authorized distributor to the poultry processing industry in America. The Viking brand is well-respected in the packaging field – particularly the ES, Velocity and other machines that are highly suited to poultry applications. The Viking line is a fine fit with Gainco’s own equipment, so we can offer better system solutions as a result.”

Viking and Gainco products will be on joint display at the International Poultry Expo in Atlanta, Ga., on January 24-26, 2012 at Booth #4859.
