Whale Interactive, a Vanilla Breeze brand, today is pleased to announce Kids Tap-Along 1.2.1 for iOS, an update to their Education & Entertainment app that lets kids play nursery rhymes by touching animated, colored stars. The correct sequence of colors is displayed in a melody line at the top of the screen, but there are no wrong notes. Touching the correct color plays a full chord on an electric keyboard, and the star explodes in a fireworks display. Touching a different color plays the right note, but as a single horn tone, and the star just vanishes in a puff of smoke. Kids Tap-Along also features an automatic Karaoke mode, where the colored discs in the melody bar move continuously, playing the rhyme. At the same time, the lyrics turn red when they should be sung. The app helps kids to develop cognitive, rhythm, and motor skills.
The app is filled with wonderful surprises and special touches. For example, the fireworks displays of correctly touched stars are of many different colors and patterns, and always entertaining to watch. Along with the multitude of animated smiling stars that slowly descend from the sky, are surprise objects that each produce their own sound to enliven any rendition of the rhyme being played. There are also three different, highly interactive themes: Night Sky, Country Field, and Under the Water. In Kids Tap-Along, it is impossible to tap and play a wrong note, which helps encourage young musicians. With practice, kids recognize the difference between the full, musical sound produced by touching the right star, and the weaker tone created when any other colored star is touched.

While the lyrics are highlighted from left to right, as in reading words, the colored discs move across the melody line from right to left. On reaching the far left of the line, the disc enters a circular disc catcher, which causes its note to be sounded. There are short and long spaces between discs on the melody line, depending upon the number of musical rests between notes. This multi-sensory interactivity helps kids appreciate the connection between all their senses. Musical notes can be colors, sequences of notes can be moving shapes, spaces can be silences between notes, and touching can produce results that are seen and heard.
"This is, simply put, a most interactive and delightful way for parents to enjoy these beautiful songs while encouraging their kids to develop cognitive, rhythm, and motor skills," commented Derrick Edwards for Vanilla Breeze and Whale Interactive. "Tap-along, play-along, sing-along carefully selected children's rhymes and we guarantee we'll keep your children amused for hours."
