Nissan North America reports record sales for 2011 and the month of December

Briggs Nissan-one of the leading Nissan dealerships in Manhattan, Kansas would like to announce that Nissan North America reported that they posted record December U.S. sales and Nissan Division yearly sales for 2011. In December Nissan sold 100,927 units compared to 93,730 units in December 2010. This was an increase of 7.7 percent. Nissan Division posted a record sales number of 944,073 units, which was a 17.3 percent increase over 2010. Briggs Nissan was very pleased with 2011 sales and enjoyed a nice sales year with the Nissan company.

Nissan can attribute its success in 2011 to many different things but several models showed significant improvement and success. The Nissan Altima ranks among the best selling cars in the U.S. and sold 25,976 units in December, this was a 12.9 percent increase over December 2010. The Altima sold 296,981 units in 2011, which was a 17.3 percent increase over 2010. The Versa and Rogue also put out record 2011 sales and the Nissan truck lineup showed major gains.

One of Nissan’s largest sales gains is through the best selling electric car in the world, the Nissan Leaf. The 100 percent electric Nissan Leaf sold 954 units in December and over 21,000 units globally in 2011.
