The fashion industry is a $972 million industry that has remained virtually unchanged over the years. But as technology leads the fashion industry into a new generation of style, functionality and sophistication, that's about to change.
Living in Digital Times is proud to sponsor the FashionWare celebration showcasing wearable technologies that include fashion that's controlled by your emotional state, climate-changing gear, and hot accessories like body monitors and ultrathin computers.
FashionWare captures the excitement of the new wearable and sensor-based technologies, combined with true beauty. “Our approach is to mix the traditional fashion show runway with education about how high tech is transforming fashion,” said Julie Sylvester, Co-producer.
Featured young designers with big ideas include: Diana Eng, Moon Berlin, Kristin Neidlinger and students of OCAD, a design school, instructor and wearable technology expert, Kate Hartman. They'll each be showcasing their creations.
Stylish and forward thinking mom bloggers and journalists will serve as the narrators for the event. They include popular voices from Chip Chick, ABC News, Techlicious, CoolTechMamas, CBS Early Show, Gear Diary and CNET.
FashionWare takes place from 6:30pm-9:00pm on Thursday, January 12, 2012 on the runway at the Fashion Show Mall, 3200 Las Vegas Blvd S, Las Vegas. Evening sponsors include Sony Ericsson, Striiv, Basis, BodyMedia FIT, and AGloves. For more information, visit http://www.fashionwareshow.com/
