“It is my hope the reader will come away with the realization that God’s Word will always have life application for all who believe in Jesus Christ..."

Within the pages of Roger Turner’s new book, Love and Forgiveness ($14.99, paperback, 978-1-61379-556-9; $22.99, hardcover, 978-1-61379-557-6; $7.49, e-book, 978-1-61379-583-5) readers will find a generous sharing of stories on faith, of how God reaches out regardless of circumstance and of how He can change lives both now and in the hereafter. The author has painstakingly separated his brief sermons, devotionals and counseling notes into three sections; each touching on key issues that believers and non-believers have wrestled with at some point in their lives.

“It is my hope the reader will come away with the realization that God’s Word will always have life application for all who believe in Jesus Christ. To help illustrate this life application phenomenon, the great majority of the devotionals include actual conversations or experiences involving individual inmates,” states the author. “As the reader considers the thoughts expressed in this book, I would urge him or her to keep in mind two words: love and forgiveness. It is expected that these words are on the hearts and minds of every follower of Christ, and especially those who may seek to enter prison ministry.”

Roger Turner graduated from Duke University in 1954 and then from University of Texas School of Law, where he is a member of the bar. The author also has a diploma from the Lay School of Theology at the Virginia Theological Seminary. He has spent more than twenty years working with inmates through various routes of prison ministry including, The Good News Jail and Prison Ministry and Prison Fellowship. The author currently resides in Falls Church, Virginia where he attends The Falls Church and holds several accolades, one of which being the Senior Servant Award.
