Author and Personal Power Expert DeLores Pressley Creates UP Woman a Worldwide Organization to Fill the Needs of Today’s Women

For centuries women have gathered together in groups to learn from one another for the purpose of passing along valuable skills. Today, the UP Woman Circles take this age old model and teaches contemporary skills women need now to advance in their careers, businesses, political positions, and achieve personal growth. “The ritual of women in circles is powerful and sacred. In UP Woman Circles, women are given permission to show UP, honoring their unique gifts, talents and skills. As a Personal Power Expert, I find that personal power is a gift that often goes unwrapped,” Pressley explains.

DeLores Pressley, author, Personal Power Expert, and motivational speaker founded the UP (Undeniably Powerful) Woman to fill the void for women forging new territories in business, careers, government and politics. “Although more graduate degrees are offered women than men today, women do not advance up the corporate ladder as quickly or as often as men. A recent survey (http://www.mckinsey.com/client_service/organization/latest_thinking/unlocking_the_full_potential.aspx) reveals that there is a lack of access to informal networks where women can make important connections, and also a lack of female role models higher up in corporate organizations,” Pressley explains.

UP (Undeniably Powerful) Woman organization is a worldwide movement, serving women for the purpose of supporting each other to develop and recognize their powerful value, and learn valuable skills from business experts to achieve success.

Between 1970 and 2009 women went from holding 37 percent of all jobs to nearly 48 percent (that is 38 million more women). Many men, unable to find work or laid off from the recession are opting to stay at home while women sustain the trend of having a larger presence in the workforce. “These two developmental trends are exactly the reason why UP Woman is such a needed service to our community of women,” Pressley says.

UP Woman Circles are held bi-monthly in Cleveland and in various cities throughout the U.S. The next UP Woman Circle is slated for January 13, 8am-12noon at the Embassy Suites Hotel—Rockside, in Cleveland.
