Golden Bison produces and distributes quality bison food products that come exclusively from grain and grass fed bison on American ranches. Ricketts hopes that customers will be attracted to the health benefits of bison meat, which include lower cholesterol and fat than most beef cuts. Golden Bison’s animals are grown without using hormones or steroids.

Some of the company’s bison come from Ricketts’ ranch near Jackson, Wyoming. Their newest ranch, the Double T, will be opening in Montana in the spring of 2012, according to Great Falls Tribune.

In 2009, High Plains Bison became the official bison distributor of the Chicago Cubs, serving several bison products at Wrigley Field. Golden Bison also operates High Plains Bison, a retailer for all-natural bison meat products.
