Rehabmart.com, an online e-commerce company that sells rehabilitation and medical supplies, has affiliated with Access-Able Designs, Inc., a company that specializes in ADA-compliant wheelchair transfer systems, to offer these aids to more physically disabled consumers. Allen Garrett, Founder and CEO of Access-Able Designs, began this company from his own experience as a quadriplegic. About 20 years ago, a swan dive into 2 feet of water caused him to see life from a drastically different point of view. Garrett's road to recovery was excruciating and humiliating, but he credits God, a skilled neurosurgeon and an outstanding rehab team for regaining enough mobility to live a productive life.

It was when he returned to his life and started working as an Independent Living Center Counselor that he really started to realize the great need for wheelchair users like himself to become involved in designing equipment manufactured for their use. From his own personal experience, and from those of other disabled people, he realized the amount of danger and frustration physically disabled people face on a daily basis—especially in the bathroom. He became proactive and created the following solutions for the physically disabled; a standard toilet transfer bench, a residential toilet transfer bench, a shower transfer bench, and a bathtub transfer bench.

For the last decade, Access-Able Transfer Benches have been instrumental in helping nursing homes, hospitals, restaurants, hotels, airports, cruise ships, convention centers and even homeowners to meet or exceed the ADA standard for their handicapped access facilities. “We are so pleased to be able to offer the Access-Able Designs to our customers.” said Hulet Smith, Founder and CEO of Rehabmart. “We believe that our physically disabled customers will love the improved safety and the ease of use with these transfer systems, and will find that this helps encourage a better sense of independence and self-motivation.”
