For five years, the National Forest Wanderings newsletter has provided information to campers about national forests and grasslands and their developed campgrounds in the United States of America. Fred and Suzi Dow, publishers of ForestCamping.com, look forward to another year of giving the public free of charge insight to all that national forests and grasslands have to offer. Published on the last Wednesday of the month, the newsletter contains up to seven brief articles on ranging topics such as winter camping tips, notable campgrounds, previews of special events coming up in national forests, and the re-introduction of some species to a forest or grassland. There are also tips and heads-up to help the novice and experienced campers enjoy their time in national forests and grasslands across the country.
With 175 national forests and grasslands being sources for articles, the National Forest Wanderings newsletter attempts to highlight topics of interest to a national forest/grassland camper. The Notable Campground article has long been a popular entry in the newsletter but the 5th Anniversary edition includes the new monthly Tips feature. Tips will cover short suggestions, such as re-use of plastic milk jugs for freezing water to go in an ice chest, to a list of winter camping suggestions in a recreational vehicle.
The National Forest Wanderings newsletter, written by Fred and Suzi Dow, publishers of ForestCamping.com, also includes stories and tid-bits from their adventures and discoveries researching national forests and grasslands. The newsletter provides a glimpse into the efforts of not only of the Forest Service but of the many others who are users and lovers of our national forests and grasslands.
In addition to publishing the monthly National Forest Wanderings newsletter, the Dows are also managing and developing the U.S. National Forest Campground Guide website, maintain a National Forest Community Forum, and have self-published Ebook on CDs and downloads of the U.S. National Forest Campground Guides. They are organized by geographic region, which can be purchased online at their website.
ForestCamping.com, the U.S. National Forest Campground Guide, is a complete and comprehensive guide to developed campgrounds in national forests and grasslands. It provides detailed information to campers looking to experience the great outdoors.
Fred and Suzi Dow, authors and publishers of ForestCamping.com, have devoted 17 years to visiting, personally researching, and providing the public with detailed information about 175 national forests and grasslands and over 2,400 personally surveyed campgrounds.
