During the 2011 year, the company saw a 50% increase in sales and revenue. While retaining their main focus on Christmas merchandise and décor, in 2011 the company put a strong emphasis on other departments including non-Christmas holiday merchandise and patio décor, while also branching out into selling popular gourmet food from around the Western New York region. To meet the needs of the growing number of customers the company serves, Christmas Central added on 25 permanent employee positions, in addition to the hundreds of temporary seasonal positions it already employs. According to CIO Nathan Gordon, “Christmas Central needed to expanded our personnel to handle the listings for the 35,000 items we sell, and over 200,000 packages that were shipped last year, and from what we have seen so far we will be looking to expand even more in 2012.” The company’s first week of sales is already trending 40% higher than the previous year, and they anticipate even larger growth with the strong emphasis being placed on the non-Christmas season merchandise.

Meanwhile the company’s website saw increased traffic as well in 2011, with over 1.2 million unique visitors to the website throughout the year (a 50% increase over the 2010), accounting for over 100 million visits to the website.
