“People want to play games in the environment they are most comfortable with, be that mobile, the Web, Kongregate or Facebook. We don’t want to make people jump over fences to enjoy Parallel Kingdom, and that means meeting our players where they are,”

PerBlue, developer of Parallel Kingdom, the first location-based, massively multiplayer role playing game, released on Facebook today. Mapped to the familiar Google Maps interface, Parallel Kingdom allows players to claim real-world territory including their current and favorite locations. Players work in coordination with other players in real-time, level up through battle and Resource acquisition to form Kingdoms and take on epic challenges.
Parallel Kingdom’s Facebook game includes all of the dynamics that attracted nearly one million users to the mobile and web versions, but offers a relatively blank canvas for new players and old fans alike to build virtual Cities and Kingdoms anew and interact with some of the latest features including:
● Integration with the Facebook Ticker, allowing players to see when their Facebook friends are playing and connect with them in-game
● Bookmarking feature makes the Parallel Kingdom App one click away from Facebook Newsfeed
● New music and game interactions sounds bites, corresponding with player actions like hunting, building Flags and fighting Monsters
“People want to play games in the environment they are most comfortable with, be that mobile, the Web, Kongregate or Facebook. We don’t want to make people jump over fences to enjoy Parallel Kingdom, and that means meeting our players where they are,” said CEO and co-founder of PerBlue, Justin Beck. “Thousands of users have already joined during beta, and since launching on these new platforms, the community is growing quickly.”
Parallel Kingdom on Facebook joins the recent launch of Parallel Kingdom for Chrome Web Store and Kongregate. Kongregate is a gaming portal to thousands of free-to-play games. Parallel Kingdom for Mobile was launched in 2008. Parallel Kingdom for the Web followed in 2011. All versions can be found at http://www.parallelkingdom.com.
