Farm Credit Services of Mid-America Moves to New Location in Valparaiso, Indiana

Completing a construction project that began almost six months ago, Farm Credit staff from the Valparaiso office moved into their new 2,800 square foot building last month.

Completing a construction project that began almost six months ago, Farm Credit Services of Mid-America (FCS) today announced that staff from the Valparaiso, IN office moved into their new 2,800 square foot building last month. The new facility, located in the Eastport Centre in Valparaiso at 2901 Leonard Drive, is approximately one mile northwest of the old location. The office will continue to serve more than 770 customers in Porter, LaPorte, Lake, and Starke Counties and will manage $145 million in loan volume.

Headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky, Farm Credit has served members throughout the four-state region for more than 95 years, offering loans for farm and rural financial needs, including real estate, operating, equipment and housing loans plus related services, such as crop insurance and vehicle, equipment and building leases. With 92 offices and more than 900 employees, FCS is backed by the strength of $18 billion in loan assets.

“This area alone has experienced more than 18 percent growth over the last 5 years and we expect continued growth in the future. Business and volume for this office has grown 4.5 percent in the last year. We simply outgrew our old space,” said Craig Blume, regional vice president. Blume went on to say that several new office construction projects across the association’s four state territory are underway to accommodate growth, including locations in Greensburg, Huntingburg and Crawfordsville in Indiana and a location in Columbia, Tennessee.

The Valparaiso eight-person office staff includes financial services officers Amy Pelsy, Randi Potts and Denise Scarborough. The customer service representatives are Vicki Barthold, Devra Leonard, Diane Osburn and Kelly Semancik. The crop insurance specialist is Jeff Smoker.
The Grand Opening for the Valparaiso office will be held Thursday, February 2. Farm Credit members and the public are welcome to stop by to tour the new facility as well as to receive more information on Farm Credit programs and services and to meet the Valparaiso staff, area board members, local advisors and Farm Credit leaders.
