Surpassed goal of working with over 100 hospitals on supplying surgical devices for both inpatient and outpatient surgeries Hospitals officials share their experiences in the AMQ Surgical Device Network

Access MediQuip (AMQ), the nation's first and largest provider of comprehensive surgical implant management solutions, announced today that the company has achieved a major strategic milestone of supplying surgical devices to over 100 hospitals over the past 2 years, accounting for approximately one third of revenue. AMQ has attracted hospitals to its network through its unique ability to improve cash flow and reimbursement risk, while reducing administrative processing around devices in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

“This milestone speaks to how much hospitals value what Access MediQuip provides them as they seek better solutions and results in the expensive and complex surgical implant device sector,” said Prakash Patel, M.D., CEO of Access MediQuip. “We have hundreds of surgical facilities in our national network, and now almost one third of our network activity is generated by hospitals and we are executing plans for continued significant growth in 2012 and beyond.”

Access MediQuip’s surgical facilities network has a national footprint that serves members of major health plans throughout the country. Access MediQuip developed a program customized for hospitals designed to: (1) address cash flow concerns, (2) control administrative costs with inventory and operational management; (3) manage hospital reimbursement risk; and (4) help hospitals manage the quality and reimbursement requirements of federal healthcare reform.

“We joined the Access MediQuip Surgical Device Network because we believed they could strengthen our financial performance and, more importantly, provide insights that ensure our surgeons can continue to provide quality outcomes without compromising the demands of cost containment,” said Eula McKinney, Director, Service Lines, UCSF Medical Center. “We have been very pleased with the professionalism, efficiency and responsiveness of Access MediQuip and look forward to continuing and growing our relationship.”

Chris Armstrong, Materials Director at UGH, Houston, said, “Our partnership with Access MediQuip over the past few years has allowed us to continue to perform a variety of cases which we may have not been able to accept due to high implant costs. Access is very flexible, easy to work with and is always available if and when issues arise. Their presence has been a tremendous asset to our organization as we continue to grow and take on new physicians. I highly recommend them to any facility.”
