Benson Honda is a leading Honda dealer in San Antonio, Texas. The dealership is enthusiastic to announce that Honda plans to build a new facility in Ohio to make the Acura NSX supercar.

Revealed at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, the rejuvenated NSX should be available within the next three years. Originally produced in Japan from 1990 to 2005, the sports car has not been sold for over five years.

Expected to be designed and built with fresh performance capabilities, the NSX will be designed and built in central Ohio. Acura expects that the vehicle’s production and improvements will require a great deal of talent.

“It says a lot that we’re willing to bring a marquee vehicle like the NSX to Ohio and say we have the engineering talent and capabilities here to do it,” Jeff Conrad, Acura’s vice president, said according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer.

According to Plain Dealer, Conrad said many people at Acura are excited to bring back the NSX. He said the company hopes to build its brand around offering high-tech, powerful cars that offer great fuel economy, and the NSX can be a symbol for that goal.

The new facility will create a number of new jobs for the Buckeye State, which will help the area’s strained economy. “It’s exciting, obviously, for our state. The auto industry is coming back. It’s the sector that’s creating jobs,” said Ohio Democratic Sen. Sherrod Brown.

Benson Honda celebrates Honda’s decision to bring more jobs to Ohio with the construction of its new plant. For more information about the vast selection of new Honda vehicles and used cars in San Antonio, visit the dealership online or on-site today.
