“We are delighted that Hartman Middle School won the grand prize,” said Abel Garcia, President of Apperson Education Products. “We hope that the children at Hartman enjoy the supplies as much as we enjoy giving back.”

Hartman Middle School’s faculty, students and community pulled together to cast over 600 votes to win the grand prize of $1500 via Apperson Education Products’ school contest.

Apperson Education Products, a leading provider of assessment and data collection products and services, has a “Gives Back” contest which gives schools a chance to win up to $1500 for educational purposes; new computers, classroom supplies, educational field trip, etc. Hartman Middle School will use their winning money towards purchasing a laptop and a color laser printer for their mathematics and science Magnet program.

Hartman Middle School was able to purchase five laptops and protective sleeves to store them in, a color printer, an external hard drive for storing the students’ projects that they can add to each year, Microsoft 2010 software, and three reams of white cardstock paper for students to print their projects on.

The mathematics and science Magnet programs give students the opportunity for detailed learning in science and math related fields with the combination of a strong academic program. Students are encouraged to develop laboratory skills through "hands-on” experimentation in a variety of science courses. Hartman Middle School students often want to do technological projects but there is a shortage of student computers and no color printer available for the students to print their work. The students will no longer have this obstacle preventing them from creating these projects.

“We are delighted that Hartman Middle School won the grand prize,” said Abel Garcia, President of Apperson Education Products. “We hope that the children at Hartman enjoy the supplies as much as we enjoy giving back.”
