E-commerce and daily deal site PulseTV.com announced that it has moved from its beta test with its website optimized for mobile devices (http://www.PulseTV.com/mobile). Co-founder and General Manager, Anisa Ali commented, “We started monitoring the percentage of visitors accessing our main website via mobile devices over a year ago. When the number grew to exceed 10%, we figured we needed to optimize the experience for these people. We are happy with the results.”
PulseTV launched its Android and iPhone mobile app over six months ago. While thousands downloaded the apps, PulseTV discovered that many more used their phones to visit the main site. Ali continued, “We have been somewhat disappointed in sales generated by apps. Our audience skews a bit older than the average daily deal site which may be the reason. However, with traffic from mobile devices growing, optimizing for mobile devices made sense. When you think of it, a well constructed mobile site obviates the need for an app.”
This announcement comes on the heels of PulseTV’s continued growth in the daily deal space. PulseTV is a national e-commerce and deal-of-the-day company in business since 1996 and entered the daily deal space back in 2007. Since then, it has enjoyed 40%+ growth annually and is 100% self-funded.
