Fantasy tales are the bread and butter of written fiction since time immemorial. People’s imaginations have always wandered far from the realms of reality to engage in adventures that bend or even defy the conventional laws of nature. Author VJ Parker pens her mind-wanderings, producing her first published book, Rowanlee.

A young lady awakes in a strange realm, her first thoughts were how to return home, the next was why she was there, and then after a long rewind of her growing up with a woman she affectionately calls grandmother. She ventures out into the unknown to fulfil her destiny, which is to bring back the balance of the land. Along the way she learns about the new gifts she has and how to use them, meets people friendly and foe, and gives her heart away to the first handsome man she finds. Rowanlee has the ability to command the elements, she is confident in herself but not with other people.

Readers will find themselves absorbed in the beautifully magical world Parker has weaved, seeing it through the eyes of Rowanlee. Fantasy lovers should not miss Rowanlee.
