Dr. Schmidt is a graduate of the Wayne State School of Medicine in Detroit. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center in Texas and his residency in diagnostic radiology at the Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas. Dr. Schmidt completed post residency training in breast imaging at Womack Army Medical center where he also held the position of Chief of Breast Imaging, Diagnosis and Interventions.
Prior to joining the Somerset Hospital medical staff, Dr. Schmidt had a long prestigious career as a staff radiologist in addition to garnering several academic and hospital leadership appointments. He has conducted dozens of presentations and lectures on breast imaging as well as other diagnostic imaging techniques and conditions. When asked about the opportunity to join Somerset Hospital, Dr. Schmidt commented “I am very excited to become a part of this dedicated medical staff and a member of this wonderful community.
