The current economy in Michigan has resulted in greater demands on schools to cut budgets and raise student achievement

Excent, the industry leader in special education, today announced that Hillsdale ISD has selected their special education case management solution, which is configured specifically for districts in 19 states, including Michigan. Excent supports special education by providing compliant IEPs, State Reporting, and Medicaid processing for maximum reimbursements. Like projects in other Michigan Intermediate School Districts (ISD), this implementation is a partnership between Excent and Jackson ISD. In this case, Jackson ISD is also providing extended Information Technology support to Hillsdale ISD.

“The current economy in Michigan has resulted in greater demands on schools to cut budgets and raise student achievement,” said Sam Roberts, Vice President of Strategic Accounts at Excent. “With Excent, teachers in Hillsdale ISD will have more time to focus on supporting students’ needs and see greater returns on their Medicaid reimbursements.”

The two-month implementation is currently underway. Jackson ISD will be providing extensive training to all users throughout the process, as well as ongoing training before each school year. Excent will help the ISD meet state regulations for special education and Medicaid reporting.
Excent is structured around meeting state and federal requirements for data collection and reporting. It streamlines the case management processes including required IEP information, transportation scheduling, discipline records, state child-count reporting, and Medicaid.
