CoreMedia, a leading Web content management (WCM) company, announced it has appointed Knud Kegel as the company’s vice president of engineering, effective immediately. In his new role, Kegel is responsible for ensuring that CoreMedia’s WCM vision translates directly into best practice solutions that help the company’s global customers achieve their online business objectives. Kegel will lead the research and development and roll-out of CoreMedia’s next generation content orchestration, context management and experience delivery capabilities.

Knud was previously CoreMedia’s director product management where he was responsible for driving the programs leading to the roll-out of CoreMedia 6 – the first WCM solution to give business users the opportunity to control all aspects of their content and context management from within a single user interface. He began his career at CoreMedia in 2003 as a Technical and Sales Consultant, and later managed the company’s international delivery team, where he worked with key customers including the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), Bharti Airtel, Singapore Press Holdings, Softbank Japan and Vodafone. Before joining CoreMedia, Knud led his own WCM consulting firm. He earned a degree in Media Information Science from the University of Applied Sciences in Wedel, Germany.
