Industry leader in developing online customized student assessment teams with Nearshore software engineering services specialist to improve quality assurance

Avantica Technologies, one of the largest Nearshore specialists providing software engineering services to both start-up and established software companies, announced today it has helped Measured Progress expand its record of quality software delivery. Measured Progress is an industry leader in the development of customized K-12 student assessments for schools, districts, and states. With more than 400 employees and offices in four states, the non-profit company is focused on advancing student learning.

Avantica Technologies testing engineers, based in the company’s Latin America software engineering centers, collaborating in an Agile model in the same time-zone, work closely with Measured Progress’ internal development team. The partnership delivers an effective software QA capability utilizing a set of metrics to evaluate various quality aspects; not only quality of the final product but also the quality of the whole process to deliver the final product.

“Avantica’s talented QA engineers, located in our time-zone from Latin America, integrated quickly and easily into our internal development team,” explained Bob St. Hilaire, QA Director at Measured Progress. “This collaboration is directed toward improving our product testing approach and increasing quality. The results have been outstanding – Avantica’s engineers have been able to more aggressively identify pre-production defects. The result is higher quality with our production product release.”

St. Hilaire went on to explain: “Several contributing factors include their skills, ability to absorb domain knowledge quickly, flexibility and overall work ethic. That, along with a high level of service provided by the management staff, make doing business with Avantica easy and dependable.”

Avantica Technologies QA Service utilizes leading testing tools, while facilitating remote customer access to see the results as soon as they are generated. This enables Measured Progress to systematically deliver quality software to its customers across 17 states. The non-profit helps states and districts nationwide comply with federal mandates to include all children in state-wide assessments and improve student learning. It works with state clients to provide customized, large-scale general and alternate assessments for K-12 students. Its innovative online classroom assessment and data management system, Datawise, can be used by local educators to measure student knowledge relative to state and national standards.

“Avantica’s comprehensive QA experience spanning requirements analysis, TC definition, test cycle execution, and measurable QA results delivery, insures Measured Progress continues to deliver quality software to its clients,” commented Juan Carlos Porras Rodriguez, Director of QA Services at Avantica Technologies. “Because we’re in the same time-zone, our testing is collaborative with their internal development, and aligned with their engineering goals. That means both companies can deliver on Measured Progress’ commitment to deliver the most cost-effective, efficient, and accessible solutions to the 2.5 million students it currently assesses nationwide.”
