We just like to have fun. That’s how we live, and how we manage. And we’re lucky to have employees that can find that balance between work and fun. We get things done, but we try to keep it light.

2011 marks the 6th time in 7 years that ABG Capital has been recognized on the prestigious Central Pennsylvania Business Journal list. Companies are chosen based on confidential employee surveys, which account for 75% of the selection criteria, and an employer survey (25%).

“It’s always an honor to be recognized like this, especially when it’s based on the feedback of your employees,” said Jeff Tapolci, who owns ABG Capital along with his brother, Jason. “This is a family company, and we try to extend that to all of our employees.”

The company keeps that promise by arranging quarterly company outings as well as supplying free lunch every Friday. Company outings include an annual “Turkey Bowl” football game, as well as bowling and a softball game. In the past, ABG Capital has taken its employees paintballing, spelunking (cave exploring), whitewater rafting and on casino trips.

“We just like to have fun,” said Jason Tapolci. “That’s how we live, and how we manage. And we’re lucky to have employees that can find that balance between work and fun. We get things done, but we try to keep it light.”

ABG Capital was included on the list every year from 2005 to 2009. The company has also been included on the Inc. Magazine list of the 500 fastest growing companies in the U.S. and the Inc. 5,000 list of the top overall company’s in the country.

About ABG Capital: Located in Pittsburgh, PA, ABG Capital provides management along with other business services to its four portfolio companies and specializes in turning businesses ideas into successful companies.
