"Once AIRS™ is installed in an airline's datacenter, it provides data management, routing and formatting, enables connectivity to government border and flight authorities, and facilitates multiple flight-critical services."
Austin, TX (PRWEB) January 12, 2012
Aeroméxico Connect, a subsidiary of Aeromexico, has deployed the AvFinity Integrated Router Solution (AIRS™) to manage crew manifest and flight plan filings to various government border and flight authorities in the multiple countries serviced by the regional airline.
AIRS™ is AvFinity patent-pending software technology powered by a Cisco Integrated Services Router. This plug-and-play appliance installed in an airline’s datacenter provides data management, routing and formatting, enables connectivity to government border and flight authorities, and facilitates multiple flight-critical services.
With AIRS™, Aeroméxico Connect will file crew manifests with assured delivery to U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the Canada Border Services Agency and CARICOM (the Caribbean Community). Connections to additional border and customs agencies will be added as other countries implement APIS for internal security.
Aeroméxico Connect services 42 destinations in Mexico, seven in the United States and one in Central America. It also uses AIRS™ to file its flight plans via a direct connection to the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration’s NADIN II. This connection provides access to the worldwide AFTN network that links many government flight authorities for the exchange of data such as flight plans. The network includes SENEAM, which handles navigation services for the Mexican air space.
Aeroméxico Connect, formerly Aerolitoral, provides significant value to business travelers and tourists by allowing them same-day round-trip service to destinations normally not serviced by large airlines. The frequency of flight schedules between major cities and other destinations has made the airline famous for its convenience to travelers.
Aeroméxico Connect maintains this reputation of convenience through AIRS’ efficient and reliable data communications tools designed to keep schedules on time and in compliance with flight regulations. With AIRS™, Aeroméxico Connect enjoys control over its flight-critical communications through an open, flexible architecture. That control includes the internal capability to adapt to changes when needed through AvFinity’s patent-pending scripting innovation.
