Willoughby, OH (PRWEB) January 13, 2012
Today’s Garden Center magazine announced the 2012 Revolutionary 100 garden centers in the United States as part of its annual Revolutionary 100 Awards program today.
The program, now in its seventh year, surveys garden center owners and managers and culminates in a listing of the 100 most revolutionary garden centers in the nation. It is open to all independent garden centers, large and small, and is based on leadership and innovation, not on size or revenue.
“The garden centers that made this year’s list are an exceptional group of forward-thinking independent retailers who thrived during a tough economy, which helps their community,” says Today’s Garden Center Editor Carol Miller. “We are proud to call them revolutionary.”
The 2012 national winner was announced during the Revolutionary 100 Roundtable event, January 12, 2012, in Atlanta, Georgia. The national winner is The Good Earth Garden Center in Little Rock, Ark.
The magazine also announced the five regional winners from the 2012 Revolutionary 100 Awards program:
Northeast Region: Lakeview Nurseries, Lunenburg, Massachusetts
West Region: My Garden Nursery, Mill Creek, Washington
Southeast Region: The Good Earth Garden Center, Little Rock, Arkansas
Midwest Region: Knupper Nursery & Landscape, Palatine, Illinois
Southwest Region: Four Seasons Greenhouse and Nursery, Dolores, Colorado
Garden center owners and managers across the United States complete an online questionnaire covering topics such as employee training, industry involvement, profitability, marketing strategies, use of technology, purchasing, and customer and community service. The entrants are ranked according to a point system, and the 100 top entries make the list.
The 2012 Revolutionary 100 Awards program is sponsored by the one of the premier industry supplier for greenhouse structures Nexus Greenhouse Corp and the IGC Show.
