Linda S. Harding, CPA, Director of Tax Services for CPAmerica International, has been appointed as a member of the Internal Revenue Service Advisory Council and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants Tax Legislation and Policy Committee.

“I am looking forward to working with IRSAC and the Tax Legislation and Policy Committee on behalf of our members, especially in today’s challenging tax environment,” Harding said.

Prior to joining CPAmerica, Harding practiced in the Tampa Bay area for 28 years. She was a tax shareholder and practiced in the areas of publicly traded organizations and closely-held businesses and their owners. Harding is also a member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.

Harding was selected as one of seven new members, beginning a three-year term, to join the existing 17 members of IRSAC. Members are selected to represent the tax-paying public, tax professionals, small and large businesses, and the payroll community. The council provides the IRS commissioner and division leadership with important feedback, observations and suggestions.

The AICPA’s volunteer committee guides and advises on the Tax Division’s interactions with the government to maximize the Division’s effectiveness, and ensure that the AICPA’s positions serve the public and members’ interests by advocating sound tax policy and effective tax administration.

“We are excited for Linda Harding to be able to volunteer and be involved with the IRS Advisory Council and the Tax Legislation and Policy committee,” said Alan Deichler, president of CPAmerica. “This will be another way she can continue to support the profession and CPAmerica firms while staying abreast of current and emerging issues affecting our members.”
