We provide scholarships that can help them in all aspects of their education... from books, to tuition, to room and board... we really wanted to help them overcome the challenges that obtaining an education can throw your way.
San Antonio, Texas (PRWEB) January 13, 2012
Generations Federal Credit Union is currently accepting applications for their 2012 Future Leader Scholarship program. The Generations scholarship program is designed to recognize students whose activities, be they academic, religious or civic, will better the community and citizenship of San Antonio and its surrounding areas. Generations will award five Future Leader Scholarships in the amount of $2,500 each.
Future Leader Scholarship applicants can be graduating high school seniors, current undergraduate students, graduate students, doctoral, post-doctoral and/or continuing education, trade school and vocational school students. The scholarships may be used for any educational or educational-related expenses the student may incur, including books, fees and room and board.
“Students today juggle many different challenges with work, school and family. We wanted to offer scholarships that truly reflect our understanding of those challenges,” said Kimberley Blohm, Generations student brand manager. “Rather than just limit our scholarships to tuition only, we provide scholarships that can help them in all aspects of their education. From books, to tuition, to room and board, we really wanted to help them overcome the challenges that obtaining an education can throw in your way.”
Applicants must be a Generations member in good standing, and must provide a completed application no later than Friday, March 30, 2012. Credit Union membership is available to anyone who lives, works, worships volunteers or attends school in Bexar County. Future Leader Scholarship applications can be obtained at any Generations branch or by visiting http://pages.mygenfcu.org/FLScholarship.html. This is the fifth year that Generations has offered the Future Leader Scholarships.
“In everything that we do, Generations strives to be advocates for our members. Our online resources for students are second to none, and we offer products and services that are specifically tailored to their unique needs. The Future Leader Scholarship is just an extension of those ongoing efforts that are designed to get students on a path of financial stability and security,” concluded Blohm.
